Grade 4: Students will have a measurement unit test tomorrow on the following: time, elapsed time, calculating perimeter, area, units of measurement, volume and capacity. Review sheets and textbook work were provided in class.
Grade 4: Students have been working on taking recipes from home and doubling and even tripling the ingredients. Please practice doubling and tripling various recipes at home as well as going over with your child the proper baking and measuring tools used to measure solids and liquids.

Grade 4: We will ba making pancakes on Monday as part of our measurement unit. Students are asked to bring a favourite topping (fruit, chocolate chip, whipped cream) to share with the class.
Students are reminded to complete the two math review booklets they recieved last Friday and have it completed for Monday. Also, please assist your child with the memorization of the multiplication table by asking them to recite it to you (e.g., 2x1=2, 2x2=4, 2x3=6, and so on until 12). This will help them not only now, but years to come. Grade 4: Students are encouraged to practice writing out and memorizing their multiplication table from 2 to 12. Grade 4: Today we started our Measurement Unit by having the students use various measurement tools (e.g., tape measure, meter stick, rulers) to measure 10 different things around the classroom. With a partner, they worked together to both the perimeter and area of the object and recorded their findings on the chart copied in class. For extra practice, please have your son/daughter measure five things at home and calculate the area and perimeter to share with the class tomorrow.
